At MEGA Maldives Airlines we strive to make your journey as pleasant as possible for you and we will do our best to accommodate any special travel requirements that you have.
Please ask your Travel Agent well in advance of any special travel requirements to give us enough time to make preparations for you. Please note that our aircraft currently do not have the capability to carry stretchers. Please also make sure you check-in early (2-3 hours before flight departure) for a smooth travel experience.
We will require medical clearance from your doctor when fitness to travel is in doubt, as evidenced by recent illness, hospitalization, injury, surgery, or instability.
Medical clearance is also required in cases that require special attention or use of special medical equipment onboard. The objectives of medical clearance are to provide safe, healthy travel and high levels of customer satisfaction.
When in doubt, please consult your medical practitioner on fitness to travel.
If medical clearance is required, please print a copy of the Medical Information Form and send the completed form to us through your travel agent.

Please note that there may be a delay in obtaining medical clearance if information provided is incomplete. Hence, it is advisable that you inform us of your travel plans early.
For flight safety reasons, you may need to obtain our approval if you need to use electronic medical equipment on board our flights. This is to ensure that the equipment does not interfere with the aircraft navigation and communication systems. Our cabin crew may require you to turn the medical equipment off if it is suspected to cause interference to the aircraft systems.
Please inform us at the time of booking if you are travelling with such medical equipment.
All self-powered medical devices are not accepted. The exceptions are:
Approval to use the above devices on our flights is not required. As we may not be able to provide inflight power supply on all your flights, you should ensure that the device is self-powered using a gel or dry battery and that the batteries can provide power for at least 150% of the flight time.
Wheelchair, mobility aids and assistive devices
If you require the use of wheelchairs (both manual and electric) or mobility aids (canes, crutches, walkers, mobility scooters etc.), please make your travel plans as early as possible. Carriage of assistive devices may not count towards your free baggage allowance. Please check with us in advance.
Please note that Ibrahim Nasir International Airport does not use boarding bridges but has Ambu-lift services for those requiring special assistance.
Please note that we are currently unable to take unaccompanied minors on our flights.
We will do our best to cater for any special meal requirements that you may have.
Please ensure that you inform us of any special meal requirements through your agent, at least 48 hours in advance.
Pets/ Live Animals
We do not currently allow animals to be carried within the cabin but we can allow pets and animals in our cargo hold subject to our Conditions of Carriage.
